Statement of Beliefs

Our Statement of Faith
Let there be real harmony among you so there won’t be any split in the church.  I plead with you to be of one mind, United in thought and purpose.
I Corinthians 1:10

Our Purpose Statement:  Why we exist as a church.
The purpose of our church is summarized in a single sentence based on two key scriptures:
“We believe a great commitment to the great Commandments and the great commission will grow a great church.”
The Great Commandment:
“Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart…soul…and mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it:  Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.”  Matthew 22:36-40
The Great Commission:
“Jesus said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”  Matthew 28:19-20

  • To Love God with all your heart is WORSHIP
  • To Love your neighbor as yourself is MINISTRY
  • To Go…make disciples is EVANGELISM
  • To Teach them…all things is DISCIPLESHIP

WORSHIP:
“Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.” Matthew 4:10
“…The Father seeks worshipers…and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24

C4 – The Four C’s of FBC

At FBC our desire is to provide a variety of ways to minister to our members as well as the Community of Charlestown.  We seek to accomplish this using the 4 C’s.  Below is a brief summary of each ministry.  For more information take a look at the page for each ministry.

Connection
Connection
 – on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights we have classes that meet with the intention of connecting the God of our salvation with others through fellowship, prayer and bible study.

Celebration

Celebration  – this is our time of worship each Sunday morning at 8:15 & 10:45.  This time is filled with singing, Scripture, testimony, video, and a truth filled practical message from God’s Word.

Community
Community  – we have community groups that meet in different host homes throughout our community. If you want to get plugged into a group then please talk to one of our pastors. These groups are a great way to grow in God’s Word and to build relationships with other believers.

Commission

Commission  – Jesus commanded his disciples to go into their respective communities and into the utter most parts of the world with the message of the Gospel.  We have monthly outreach events that we use to spread the Gospel of Christ to our community. We are also committed to international missions as we have partnered to help reach the Quebecois people of Quebec, Canada.
