CommissionAt FBC we believe firmly that we have been commanded to proclaim the gospel as ACTS 1:8 commands.  In Acts 1:8 Jesus commands the disciples to proclaim the gospel in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth.  For us that means that we actively seek to proclaim the gospel in Charlestown, Indiana, North America, and the ends of the earth.  Below you will find what this looks like for FBC.  For more information about each of these missions areas call our office (812) 256-3421 or email us at office@fbctown.com

Serving in Charlestown

Community Outreach Events – Throughout the year we will have outreach events that focus on carrying the gospel of Christ into our community. These events include community gospel blitzes, working the concession stand for the Charlestown Little League Opening Day, and many others.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL–  Every year, FBC holds Vacation Bible School for kids in our community to come hear about the love of Jesus!

Clark County 4-H Fair– Every July, FBC sets up a booth at the Clark County 4-H Fair. This booth helps us as a church proclaim the gospel to the thousands that walk through the fair.

HOPE CENTER – Every Monday and Thursday from 1pm-3pm, our church doors are open to show the love and hope of Christ through our food ministry known as, The Hope Center.  Each week we serve dozens of families through giving out food and other household items. This ministry reaches out to our neigbhors in Charlestown. Please come visit us any Monday or Thursday.

Trunk or Treat–  Every October 31st, FBC holds its largest outreach event as we provide a safe and fun environment for our community on halloween night. We have popcorn, hot chocolate, a fun gospel presentation and lots of decorated trunks with lots of candy. Come and join us on halloween night!

Serving in Indiana

We seek to partner with other churches in our state so that we can have a greater impact for the Kingdom of God.

A church planting partnership we have is in Richmond, Indiana.  We have partnered with The Legacy Church Plant of Richmond.   For more information on our partnership with The Legacy Church Plant of Richmond, please see Pastor Jimmy Walls or Amy Farmer.

In Indiana we partner with…

Our Southeastern Indiana Baptist Association – Click on the link to go to their website to see how we partner with our local association

Our State Convention of Baptists in Indiana– Click on the link to go to our State conventions website to see how we partner together.

Serving North America and the Ends of the Earth

Right now our church is engaged in a partnership with Connexion Church in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Our partnership started in 2010. We have teamed up with the North American Mission Board and the International Mission Board to help our missionaries in Montreal reach the Quebecois people with the gospel.  The Quebecois people are one of the largest unreached people groups in North America.  This means that less than 2% of their population have a saving faith in Jesus.  That led us as a church to adopt the Quebecois People so that we can love on them, pray for them and show them the love of Christ.

Reaching The Quebecois People
